SBOM

Software Bill of Materials — the complete ingredient list of a piece of software.

An SBOM (Software Bill of Materials) is a machine-readable inventory of every component inside a piece of software — direct dependencies, transitive dependencies, versions, licenses, and origins. It is the ingredient label that lets you answer "are we affected?" in minutes instead of weeks when the next big vulnerability drops.

US Executive Order 14028 made SBOMs a procurement requirement for federal software. Safeguard generates SBOMs automatically during package verification, in standard formats, as part of the provenance record for every Gold component.
