| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Advisory ID | SGZ-2026-279D2 |
| Severity | HIGH |
| CWE | CWE-287 |
| Confidence | 92% |
| Category | auth_bypass |
| Exploitability | likely |
| Package | pusher@latest (golang) |
| Location | pusher/executor.go:20-27 |
| Attack Vector | NETWORK |
| Attack Complexity | LOW |
| Privileges Required | NONE |
| Discovered By | SafeGuard Zero-Day AI Discovery Engine |
The Executor.HandleCommand method processes "subscribe" commands without invoking the provided Verifier, allowing any client to subscribe to arbitrary identifiers without authentication or validation. This can lead to unauthorized access to private channels and data leakage.
The vulnerability was identified in the file pusher/executor.go at lines 20-27 within the pusher package (version latest). Any code path that invokes these functions inherits this vulnerability.
File: pusher/executor.go (lines 20-27)
func (ex *Executor) HandleCommand(s *node.Session, msg *common.Message) error {
if msg.Command == "subscribe" {
subscribeMsg := &common.Message{
Command: msg.Command,
Identifier: msg.Identifier,
}
// verifier not used here
// ...
}
// ...
}
The code above demonstrates the vulnerable pattern. This code is executed at runtime and can be directly exploited by an attacker with the appropriate access level.
An attacker crafts a WebSocket message with Command="subscribe" and a target Identifier, sends it to the server, and receives subscription confirmation, gaining access to the channel without proper verification.
Unauthorized clients can subscribe to private channels, potentially exposing sensitive data and enabling further attacks.
Invoke ex.verifier.Verify(msg.Identifier) (or appropriate verification logic) before processing the subscription and reject the request if verification fails.
Advisory: SGZ-2026-279D2 | Source: SafeGuard Zero-Day AI Discovery | Status: Candidate
This vulnerability was autonomously discovered by SafeGuard's AI-powered Zero-Day Discovery engine using TAOR (Think-Act-Observe-Repeat) agentic analysis on the package source code. It is not yet tracked in any public vulnerability database (CVE, NVD, GHSA, OSV). This finding should be triaged by a security engineer and, if confirmed, reported upstream to the package maintainer.
