| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Advisory ID | SGZ-2026-593C7 |
| Severity | HIGH |
| CWE | CWE-22 |
| Confidence | 92% |
| Category | logic_flaw |
| Exploitability | likely |
| Package | crop_image_script@latest (python) |
| Location | antigravity-image-master/skills/custom-ratio-image-gen/scripts/crop_image.py:15-18, 30-33 |
| Attack Vector | NETWORK |
| Attack Complexity | LOW |
| Privileges Required | LOW |
| Discovered By | SafeGuard Zero-Day AI Discovery Engine |
The script writes the processed image directly to the user-supplied output_path without any validation or sanitization. An attacker can supply a path like ../../../../etc/passwd to overwrite arbitrary files on the filesystem, leading to potential system compromise.
The vulnerability was identified in the file antigravity-image-master/skills/custom-ratio-image-gen/scripts/crop_image.py at lines 15-18, 30-33 within the crop_image_script package (version latest). Any code path that invokes these functions inherits this vulnerability.
File: antigravity-image-master/skills/custom-ratio-image-gen/scripts/crop_image.py (lines 15-18, 30-33)
img.save(output_path, quality=95)
# later after cropping
cropped.save(output_path, quality=95)
The code above demonstrates the vulnerable pattern. This code is executed at runtime and can be directly exploited by an attacker with the appropriate access level.
Provide a malicious output_path argument pointing to a sensitive file location. The script will overwrite the target file with image data, potentially corrupting or injecting malicious content.
Arbitrary file overwrite can lead to privilege escalation, defacement, or execution of malicious payloads if overwritten files are later executed.
Validate and sanitize output_path to ensure it resides within an allowed directory, and reject paths containing traversal sequences. Use safe file handling libraries or generate output filenames internally.
Advisory: SGZ-2026-593C7 | Source: SafeGuard Zero-Day AI Discovery | Status: Candidate
This vulnerability was autonomously discovered by SafeGuard's AI-powered Zero-Day Discovery engine using TAOR (Think-Act-Observe-Repeat) agentic analysis on the package source code. It is not yet tracked in any public vulnerability database (CVE, NVD, GHSA, OSV). This finding should be triaged by a security engineer and, if confirmed, reported upstream to the package maintainer.
