|---|---|
| Advisory ID | SGZ-2026-DB63E |
| Severity | HIGH |
| CWE | CWE-79 |
| Confidence | 92% |
| Category | logic_flaw |
| Exploitability | likely |
| Package | 879ed6f5-75f3-4be6-a384-0ee24bf77e57@latest (npm) |
| Location | src/Illuminate/Foundation/resources/exceptions/renderer/scripts.js:7-13 |
| Attack Vector | NETWORK |
| Attack Complexity | LOW |
| Privileges Required | NONE |
| Discovered By | SafeGuard Zero-Day AI Discovery Engine |
The tippy.js configuration enables allowHTML, which renders the content of data-tippy-content attributes as raw HTML. An attacker who can control this attribute can inject malicious scripts that execute in the context of the page, leading to XSS.
The vulnerability was identified in the file src/Illuminate/Foundation/resources/exceptions/renderer/scripts.js at lines 7-13 within the 879ed6f5-75f3-4be6-a384-0ee24bf77e57 package (version latest). Any code path that invokes these functions inherits this vulnerability.
File: src/Illuminate/Foundation/resources/exceptions/renderer/scripts.js (lines 7-13)
tippy('[data-tippy-content]', {
arrow: false,
allowHTML: true,
animation: 'shift-away',
delay: [300, 0],
duration: 200,
theme: 'laravel',
});
The code above demonstrates the vulnerable pattern. This code is executed at runtime and can be directly exploited by an attacker with the appropriate access level.
Inject a <script> tag or event handler into the data-tippy-content attribute of any element rendered by the application. When the tooltip is displayed, the malicious HTML is rendered and executed.
Arbitrary JavaScript execution in the victim's browser, leading to session hijacking, credential theft, or defacement.
Set allowHTML to false and, if HTML content is required, sanitize the data-tippy-content value using a library like DOMPurify before passing it to tippy.
Advisory: SGZ-2026-DB63E | Source: SafeGuard Zero-Day AI Discovery | Status: Candidate
This vulnerability was autonomously discovered by SafeGuard's AI-powered Zero-Day Discovery engine using TAOR (Think-Act-Observe-Repeat) agentic analysis on the package source code. It is not yet tracked in any public vulnerability database (CVE, NVD, GHSA, OSV). This finding should be triaged by a security engineer and, if confirmed, reported upstream to the package maintainer.
